Happy New Year, friends! 🙂

Last year, I picked the word Whole for 2010.

I’m more whole than I was at this time last year. I’ve come through grad school with more than they promised in the brochure. I’ve learned that running and yoga, combined, are still the most effective way to collaborate with my physical self. I’ve splurged and saved. I’ve put a little perspective around this continuing adventure of mine.

I still like word-picking more than resolution-setting. Away from the office, outside the objectives, it remains more important to me to be, rather than to do. (Do be do be do be doooo!) There are still things I would like to do, but wow, it pains me to think about structuring my life around those things instead of working them into a life that’s rewarding without constant motion.

For 2011, the word will be Courage. It will have to be Courage, because I’m going to need some. There are some Big Things on tap for this next trip around the sun, and I’m excited, but…I could use at least a quarterly hit of Courage.
