Zucchini that will likely be transplanted again, because it deserves better.
Napa grape tomatoes, delivered yesterday, caged upside down on Alicia's advice that SHE DID NOT FOLLOW HERSELF.
Strawberry plants in a repurposed bookshelf.
Cucumber plants. And unevenly watered soil.
The current layout. That green bin in the foreground is holding seeds for the green beans, and the white pot has extra cucumbers. I'm going to trellis them against the balcony to see which works better, the cage or the trellis.
The herb garden: oregano, chives, basil, and parsley.

My new aloe plant. Placed close to the kitchen because I am a klutz and a half.

I’m pretty pleased about the indoor plants. I’m cautiously optimistic about the outdoor plants. Most of them.

I’m curious about the strawberry plants — I’ve never tried to grow strawberries before. When I was a kid, they just turned up in the lawn or in the pasture, and I didn’t like strawberries, anyway…although I *loved* picking them.
I think I’m more likely to have extra cucumbers than extra strawberries, but I’ll let you know. 😉
For the record I wanted my plants to outlast construction and did not want to poke a construction worker IN THE FACE with the cages. The pointy end would be right about at eye level. We’re already paying enough for the kitchen, I don’t want to add worker’s comp to that price.
