Day Two

First, I promise I will not chronicle the full detox, because ew. (Although, if I can write about cheese and wine, why not about brown rice and kale?)
But I would like to announce that it’s Full Day Two and I’m not dead. I’ve got an intermittent migraine, but I was forewarned and am managing fairly well.
I can highly recommend oatmeal made with coconut milk and a little stevia. I can also highly recommend shaking up the coconut milk before trying to use it.
Aside from the migraine, there are no adverse effects thus far. I do miss coffee, but I don’t feel starved or deprived. I have pulled out my microwave for the 30 days because it’s the easiest way for me to make oatmeal and heat up leftover rice.
Day 30, by the way, falls on August 25. Thirty days is not very long at all.
I should mention the advice that detox is not the best time for exercise. Chironutridoc has patients who’ve worked out during this and done all right, but it’s not really part of the plan. It’s not a carb-free diet, but it’s pretty low-carb and has more to do with digestion than, say, strength training.
Check in at the end of the week and I’ll tell you if any weight has come off. Or if I’m dead…in which case, of course, the post will be ghost-written.
Is Stevia from the Nicks family of products?
Because I opted to use and abuse “ghost-written,” I rather feel I had that one coming…
mmm… Coconut milk. HUGE FAN!
We are doing a similar detox when Luke gets back, so we can figure out what food compliment good behavior. Of course, we have to load Luke up on the calories, because the kid cannot afford to lose weight. We’ll be checking things like milk, meats and cheese. We already do a low-sugar diet. Getting him to eat more protein will be the real challenge.
No kidding? Let me know how it goes. Try to go as organic as you can at the same time, if you’re not already.
Bet he’d like turkey burgers! 🙂
