Now that word has gone ’round, I would like to share with all of you my overpowering joy in the engagement of two very dear friends. “Shotgun” was proposed to near the Capitol on Friday night and, of course, answered in the affirmative.

This couple, ladies and gentlemen, is very, very much in love. They’re fantastic for each other in the way you don’t see as often as you’d like. They’ve been through a lot over the years, but they’ve come through it all knowing that this…this is what it’s all about.

So best wishes to Shotgun and congratulations to her fiance! This is gonna be one HELL of a party. 🙂
