At the market: May 23

We hit the Courthouse Farmers Market this morning at about 8:15, so chosen because I have a hankering to roast a chicken this week and EcoFriendly Foods was likely to have some fresh roasters on hand.

This weekend’s haul:

Giant strawberries. Huge, fragrant, and tasty.

Portobellos for grilling. Grown on manmade logs, which intrigues me.

Asparagus. I never come home without it.

"Hi! I will look better cooked!"

Chocolate Mint Chip cookies, already cut in half and wrapped separately. Because, holy god, there's a stick of butter in each cookie.

Welcome back, pizza night.

We also picked up some asparagus at the Farmer’s market this morning… for salmon asparagus pasta this evening… That pizza looks delicious. Do you make your own dough, and if so, can I get the recipe? I don’t have a good one…

Thanks! I do make my own dough, but this is not that recipe. I need to find that recipe and adapt it to my non-breadmaker world.

In the meantime, try this one: http://bread-and-honey.blogspot.com/2009/04/pizza.html. It produced the crust above, which isn’t bad.
