Someone again got here looking for what to say to the family of the recently deceased. I wrote about it last month, but today, I just don’t have the words.

Friends I know only a little, friends I just don’t see very often, have lost their littlest boy at the age of 3.5 months. The last time I saw them was before Christmas, when they were anxiously awaiting his arrival…indeed, they were joking about whether he would decide to join the party that night. And now they have lost him, and their older son has lost his baby brother.

I am grateful to know that their faith strengthens them, because I can’t imagine anyone on earth knows words that would comfort them.

I don’t know what you say when babies die, except that you are just so sorry.
