Thanks, Jeff! Very informative piece.
Let me be clear — I’m a design junkie and have seen the results of both talented, informed design and cut-rate “make us a logo” design. Like anything else, you get what you pay for and the former is definitely better, especially for a business that would like to be taken seriously.
But for those of us who fake it until a pal gives us a masthead as a birthday gift? This at least gives us access to willing designers at a price we can afford.
I would also admit that my posting skills suck. Feel free to delete one or the other.
