30 days has September

I am patiently awaiting the arrival of my 2009 letterpressed and silkscreened calendar from ilee. Each month has its own sheet, and the whole thing is stored and presented in a jewel case.

It’s funny — interesting calendars used to be rather important to me. Then, of course, they became part of the overall home decor, and the freebie from the apartment manager was the easiest to agree upon for managing the household schedule.

Admittedly, this is not a calendar for writing on. But it does have the rich colors and touch of whimsy that I like to have around me.

And it’s handcrafted, which makes it that much better. 🙂

Speaking of interesting calendars, a number of years ago I was shopping for my annual calendar and came across this cool calendar with older women posing nude with sunflowers… I thought it was quite unique and bought it. A couple of years later, I was quite sad that I had thrown out this calendar after the year ended… because the movie Calendar Girls came out and I realized that I had owned one of their calendars… little did I know at the time. 🙂

I like your desk calendar. I agree with the liking the calendar to match the overall home decor. My problem is that it takes so long for me to find one that eventually I end up with a random one because it’s going on to February already. 🙂

Wow! That would have been a treasure to keep, indeed. 🙂

I had one with prints of Renaissance paintings forever ago…that may be where this fascination started.
