Never second-guess the mistakes of your opponent

I read that in a sci-fi/fantasy novel somewhere, and today? Today, it rings loudly in my head and provides a lovely soundtrack for my little “Governor Who?” dance.
If you haven’t heard, Senator McCain has selected Alaska Governor Sarah Palin for to balance out the Republican ticket.
- Female to attract HRC supporters? Check!
- Young enough to counter Obama’s youthful exuberance? Check!
- Supportive of ANWR drilling to distract from McCain’s opposition of same? Check!
- Traditional Republican-style family connection to oil? Check!
Somewhere, Carly Fiorina is quietly grinding her teeth behind a steely smile and, I hope, wondering why she’s on the wrong side of history. I certainly would be.
Instead, I’m a little baffled by the selection and look forward to learning more about the governor’s background and positions. I’m curious to hear more about the strategy of this pick, which, on its face, seems to create a very weak ticket indeed.
Were I a Republican, I would be some pissed right about now… As I’m not, however, eff them if they can’t take a joke. 😉
Seriously? Obama/Biden vs. McCain/Who? Welcome to the big leagues, Madame Governor.
I’m a Republican, and honestly? I AM pissed. I see hidden agenda….and I’m not liking it. I could be wrong…I’m not very much in to politics, but I know when my gut is telling me that something is just not . quite. right.
Another reason in my list of considerations to cross the party line.
My first response was along the lines of, “wow. Do they really think that Hillary’s supporters would be that bitter and irrational? Perhaps because a lot of them were women??”
I know… Bit condescending, no?
I’m shaking my head too. Kev is convinced that this election will make me a democrat…I’m not too sure he’s wrong.
W00t!
Job well done, Senator McCain.
