Back to my roots

Heaven help me. I won an eBay auction.
Not the one I wanted most to win, but the one most in line with my intentions.
I can’t speak for every 70s household, but every kitchen in my family contained some number of Pyrex mixing bowls. Of course, these were my standard when I left the nest at the tender age of 19. Not that I mixed or cooked anything…not until much later.
Today’s Pyrex is SO dull and boring and blah. Back in the day, chocolate chip cookies and macaroni salads and mashed potatoes were made and/or served in cheerfully colored and bizarrely printed Pyrex bowls.
Like these, which will shortly grace a shelf in my kitchen. I lost the bid on the pink ones, but the avocado ones are far more authentic to me — my mommy had these, and she’s going to be tickled when she sees them here next month.
My mom had some EXACTLY like these too – same color ‘n all! I remember her serving food in them many times! Bet if I dig hard enough in the back of her kitchen cabinets, I can find one or two left…
Awesome find!
Yeah, I gave that a shot. She’s still got some of the ones with lids…
I LOVE avacado green! These are fabulous…what a happy thing to have in your kitchen. 🙂 Congratulations!
Thanks! I can’t wait to make cookies in them.
