Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion

So said Dolly Parton as Truvy in Steel Magnolias. Usually, I tend to agree — a nice balance is what we all shoot for, right? If it goes on long enough, though, people start to look at you funny when you choke on your own tears.
Vaguely…
I am desperately sad for a friend.
I am angry at Nature and at science. Probably more at science.
I am splendidly happy in my personal life. You know the happy where you cry a little? That’s the one.
I am impressed by an old friend whose love blasts through dusty old obstacles.
I am intrigued by the choices Facebook made for its new interface.
I am looking forward to a challenging and stimulating future.
I am proud that my friends are happy with the photos I took of their event.
I am content to wait.
I am invigorated by my work.
I am excited to finally have a gathering in my home that does not involve paint or cancer.
I am determined.
we gathered.
there was no paint.
and no cancer.
good times.
True…good point. But that was very shortly after the painting, and only after I changed my move date.
Near miss, that.
Would that all metrics were so clear and simple!
We will always been friends. I would like to add that to my list of “constants” in life. Does it ever seem odd that all your good friends are just friends? I feel closer to more of my friends than I do to my own family. There should be some other word for closeness like that.
Constants? Doll, these are only yesterday!
In *Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix*, J.K. Rowling makes a character say “One person couldn’t feel all that at once — they’d explode.”
I can relate.
How about “framily? Like frienemy, but not. 😉
